Everything you need to get the most out of Vexify.

Select your game first

Go to Categories and pick your game before uploading. This tells the AI what HUD elements, sounds, and moments to look for — dramatically improving clip quality.

Best video format

MP4 works best. Any resolution or aspect ratio is fine — Vexify automatically reframes everything to 9:16 for TikTok and Shorts. 1080p recordings give the best output quality.

Processing time

Short clips (under 5 min) process in 1-3 minutes. Longer VODs (15-30 min) take 5-10 minutes. Free tier has a short queue delay — upgrade for priority processing.

Editing clips

After preview, hit Edit on any clip. You can adjust the caption text, color, position, and trim the in/out points. Hit Apply & Render to lock in your changes before downloading.

How it works

Select your game

Go to Categories and pick the game you're uploading footage from. The AI uses this to understand what it's looking at.

Upload your footage

Drag and drop your video on the Create page. Optionally add background music and a clip title. Hit Analyze & Create Clips.

AI analyses your video

Vexify scans the audio for kill sounds, reactions, and tension spikes. It also analyses motion to find high-action moments. Then Gemini AI watches frames and writes captions.

Preview your clips

You get 3 clips (more on paid tiers). Each has an AI-generated caption, virality score, and reasoning for why it was picked. Download any clip directly.

Edit if you want

The editor is optional. Clips are ready to post as-is. If you want to tweak the caption or trim the clip, hit Edit and then Apply & Render before downloading.

Tips for better clips

💡 Upload longer footage

A 15-30 minute gameplay session gives the AI more to work with. Short 2-minute clips often only have one highlight. Longer sessions produce more diverse, better-quality clips.

💡 Game audio matters

The AI uses audio signals to detect kill sounds, explosions, and tension. If your footage has game audio, detection is significantly better. Pure screen recordings with no audio will fall back to motion detection only.

💡 Use the style hint

If you want clutch moments specifically, set the Style hint to "Clutch Moment" before uploading. The AI will prioritise low-health, outnumbered situations over fast kill chains.

💡 Clip history is local

Your clips are stored in this browser only. Clearing your browser data will delete your history. Download any clips you want to keep.

Frequently asked questions
Why is my clip starting on the round-end screen?▼
The AI detects audio peaks — sometimes the round-end sound is louder than the kill itself. The window positioning pulls back before the peak to capture the action that caused it. If this keeps happening, try uploading a longer section of gameplay so the AI has more context.
Why did processing fail?▼
Make sure the backend is running: open Terminal, navigate to your backend folder, and run uvicorn main:app --reload. If it's running and still failing, check that your Gemini API key is in your .env file.
How do I get better captions?▼
Select your specific game from Categories before uploading. The AI uses game context to write accurate captions like "1V4 CLUTCH" or "SITE RETAKE" instead of generic ones. You can also edit any caption in the editor after processing.
What's the free tier limit?▼
Free tier gives you 5 uploads per day, videos up to 30 minutes, 720p exports, and a Vexify watermark on clips. See the Pricing page for Creator and Pro tier options.
Can I remove the watermark?▼
Yes — Creator and Pro tiers have no watermark. Paid tiers are coming soon. Join the waitlist on the Pricing page to be first to know.
Is my gameplay footage stored anywhere?▼
Your footage is processed locally on the machine running the backend and is automatically deleted after processing. Vexify does not upload or store your raw gameplay footage on any external server.
